BioFlex is currently developing modular farm-scale biogas systems for Irish farms. The work below shows the engineering scope, from plant layout to feedstock handling and dosing, being prepared for pilot deployment.

Modular farm-scale biogas plant
A complete farm-scale anaerobic digestion plant designed for Irish dairy and mixed-farm operations. The system integrates the digester tank, gas storage dome, slurry handling, and a containerised control unit into a single compact footprint that fits within standard farm yards. The modular layout allows the plant to be transported, installed, and commissioned with minimal civil works, making biogas production economically accessible to individual farms that the large-scale industry cannot serve.

Two-chamber stainless steel feeding bunker
A custom stainless steel feeding bunker designed for controlled feedstock delivery into an anaerobic digestion line. The two-chamber configuration allows separate handling of different feedstock streams, for example slurry and solid co-substrates, with an integrated drive and discharge system maintaining consistent flow into the digester. Stainless steel construction ensures corrosion resistance, easy cleaning, and long service life in continuous-operation farm environments.

Push-floor dosing and transfer system
A push-floor dosing system designed to deliver controlled, repeatable feedstock doses from the feeding bunker into the digester. The system combines a push-floor discharge mechanism with an inclined screw conveyor and integrated dosing tank, allowing precise feed rate control and consistent digester loading. Designed for retrofit alongside existing concrete digester tanks, with structural framing and access points engineered to suit the operating site.

Every installation is resolved as a full layout drawing before anything is fabricated: equipment positions, structural framing, pipe routing, and access points are all fixed against the real site. Working this way means clashes are found on the drawing rather than on the yard, and the customer sees exactly what will be installed before committing to manufacture.

Our first pilot on a real Irish farm
Our first commercial pilot is being prepared at Saltrock Dairy, a working family farm in Co. Wexford. The Letter of Intent is signed and installation is upcoming.
